Training schedule for Taren's and Krystal's girls while they are at Westerns:

Taren's Girls
Wednesday, April 27 – Brooklyn, Abigail, and Katie normal time with Tara . No training for Catherine, Alex, and Sigrid. 

Thursday, April 28 – Normal time (2:00-6:00pm) with Katrina.  Normal girls plus Alex.

Friday, April 29 – Normal time (3:30-7:30pm) with Georgia. Normal girls plus Catherine and Sigrid.

Saturday, April 30 – All train 9:00-1:00pm with Katrina.  


Krystal's Girls

Wednesday, April 27 – Normal time with Ovidiu.

Thursday, April 28 – Normal time with Ovidiu.

Friday, April 29 – Trinity train 3:00-5:30pm with Ovidiu.

Saturday, April 30 – All train 1:00-5:00pm with Ovidiu.

SUCCESS AT PROVINCIALS

Congratulations to all our ladies who competed at Provincials and Trials to Canadians this past weekend in Lethbridge.  We are so proud of all your accomplishments!  Capital City girls collected a striking total of 47 medals over the weekend!  Here are some highlights from the weekend:

  • Brielle Wilchuck - 1st AA in HP Junior.  Brielle competed her new Markelov release on bars!
  • 1st on Vault - Rochelle Bernier (NO), Emma Brown (P2 Tyro), Kassandra Hordal (PNE), Brooklyn Marsden (P4 Tyro), and Maryn Price (PNA). Way to go powerful ladies!  
  • 1st on Bars - Kiana Orom (PNA). Kiana has worked very hard on bars and it sure paid off!
  • 1st on Beam - Aaliyah Jomha (P2 Argo), Isabelle Law (P3 Argo), and Raquel Tonn (P5 Novice). Beautiful front tuck Raquel!
  • 1st on Floor - Sara McLean (NN) and Julianna Minervini (P2 Argo). Sara competed her new double back perfectly!
  • Outstanding AA Finishers - Rochelle Bernier (NO) 3rd AA, Diana Dick (PNA) 3rd AA, Marisa Dick (HPJ) 2nd AA, Kassandra Hordal (PNE) 3rd AA, Brooklyn Marsden (P4 Tyro) 2nd AA, Julianna Minervini (P2 Argo) 3rd AA, Rachel Sherrington (HPJ) 3rd AA, Raquel Tonn (P5 Novice) 3rd AA, and Brielle Wilchuck (HPJ) 1st AA.

Video of Brooklyn's winning tsuk at competition. This was Brooke's first tsuk at competition and she won most dynamic P4 Tyro vault.  Nice work Brooke!


We are also excited to announce that Capital City has the most number of athletes per club in Alberta attending Nationals.  We will have an impressive amount of 9 athletes travelling to PEI for Canadian Championships in May.  We also earned a coaching spot for both the Novice and Open Team.  Congrats to our following girls who will be at Canadians:

Additional Information for Provincials:

  • There will be water coolers on the floor, so athletes please bring refillable water bottles.
  • See your coach as soon as you arrive for your Athlete Accreditation.  Athlete Accreditation will be required to be worn at all times for access past the lower level security desk to the change rooms, competition floor and medical services.  Athlete Accreditation will also provide access to the spectator seating from the track level only.
  • Parking - Lot E has been designated to the Provincial Championships and will be clearly marked.  It is a pay lot on Friday only.  Saturday and Sunday are available at no charge.

IMPORTANT - CHANGE TO THE PROVINCIALS SCHEDULE

There is a NEW PROVINCIALS SCHEDULE with the following changes:  
Saturday, April 16th:
  • P3 Open - now at 11:30pm to 2:45pm (was at 1:30pm to 4:00pm)
  • P4 Novice - now at 3:00pm to 5:00pm (was at 4:00pm to 6:30pm)
  • P4 Open - now at 6:00pm to 9:30pm (was at 7:00pm to 9:30pm)
  • Pre-Novice Aspire and Pre-Novice Elite - now at 6:00pm to 9:30pm (was Sunday at 3:30pm to 6:00pm) NOTE - DAY AND TIME CHANGED
Sunday, April 17th:
  • P5 Tyro, P5 Novice, & P5 Open - now at 1:30pm to 5:00pm (was at 1:00pm to 3:30pm)

Week of Provincials Training Schedule - April 11th to 15th

Tara's Group:
  • Last day of training Wednesday (normal time).
Taren's Group:
  • Abigail, Brooklyn, & Emma training Monday 3:30-7:30pm, Tuesday 3:30-7:30pm, Wednesday 3:30-7:30pm.  No training on Thursday.
  • Alyson, Cassidi, Katie, & Natalie train normal days with last day of training being Thursday (normal time) with Krystal or Katie.
Taren's/Krystal's Girls:
  • Alex, Catherine, & Sigrid last day of training will be Wednesday (normal time).
  • Raquel and Taylor train normal days.  Friday training will be with Kristi (normal time).  No training Saturday.
Krystal's Group:
  • Brooke, Diana, Kassandra, Kiana, Maryn, & Trinity last day of training will be Thursday (normal time).
  • Ayrie & Jana train normal days. Friday will be with Kristi (normal time). No training Saturday.  
Katie's/Ovidiu's Group:
  • Last day of training Thursday (normal time).
  • Sam G., Sam W., and Sydney can train Friday as well from 3:00-7:00pm with Kristi.  No training Saturday.

2011 Triple Flip Wild Rose Invitational - March 24th to 27th

Congratulations to all our girls who competed at Wild Rose, it was a very successive and fun weekend.  To see our girls  full results and details visit our official website.

Award highlights from the weekend:
  • Marisa Dick earned the silver medal in the uneven bars finals and a bronze on vault in the Junior Cup category competing against Canadian National Team members as well as junior athletes from all over the country.
  • Rochelle Bernier earned the gold medal on vault in a field of 19 athletes in the Senior Challenge
  • Abigail Fuller (P4 Tyro) and Catherine Dubois (P4 Open) won 1st place All Around
  • Capital City earned an impressive total of 32 medals over the weekend

Northern Zones and Trials to Western Canadian Championships – March 19th to 20th


All 10 of our Provincial 2 and 3 girls qualified for Provincial Championships and Capital City placed an impressive 10 athletes on the Alberta Team for Western Championships.
