Horizon LEAP Event - Dec 13 & 14, 2013

Cally W. , Chloe C., and Taryn B. tested at Horizon on December 13th -14th. The girls did great for this first LEAP event of the season.

• Cally received her Copper pin!
• Chloe received her Bronze pin!
• Taryn tested Copper Physical and came away with a purple ribbon :)

Trials to Alberta Winter Games - Dec 14th, 2013

Capital City has 7 athletes tryout for Alberta Winter Games in Red Deer on Saturday, December 14th.  

• P2 Athletes- Ariana H., Brooklyn L., and Shane M. tried out for Zone 6.  Ariana placed 2nd in Zone 6 and 2nd on beam for all P2's.  Ariana earned a spot on the Zone 6 P2 team!  
• P3 Athletes - Olivia T. and Emily A. tried out for Zone 6.  Olivia was 2nd in her zone, and 3rd on vault and 1st on bars for all P3's.  Emily was 3rd AA in Zone 6.  Olivia earned a place on the Zone 6 P3/P4 team!  Emily is the team alternate.  
• P4 Athletes - Taelynn N. was 1st AA and 2nd on bars and beam.  Hudsyn A. was 2nd AA and 1st on floor.  Taelynn and Hudsyn made the Zone 6 P3/P4 team!
• Ashley Sportun was names team coach of the Zone 6 P3/P4 team

Congratulations to all our girls that tried out for AWG.  The girls that made teams will compete at Alberta Winter Games in Canmore on Feb 6-9th ... good luck!!!

National Stream Cup Trials - Dec 15th, 2013

Shae R. competed at National Stream Cup trials in Red Deer on Sunday, December 15th.  Shae received 1st on beam and bars, 3rd on floor and vault, and 1st AA in Pre Novice Aspire.  This was Shae's first competition and she rocked it!  Congratulations Shae :)

National Novice Training Weekend

The National Novice girls from Calgary Gym Centre came to train with our National Novice athletes this past weekend.  The CGC girls stayed with our athletes as billets.  They all went out for a team dinner on Saturday night.  It was great for our girls to train with other Novices from Alberta and all the girls had a fun time.
