Alberta and Capital City dominated at the 2011 Western Canadian Championships!

Alberta’s National Novice team won gold in the team competition.  Sara was the only one on the NN team whose scores on every event counted towards the team’s total.   Sara had a fantastic day and got 8th in the AA and made vault, bars, and beam finals.  Katrina got 9th in the AA and Paige Romano got 14th.

Our P5 Tyro team also captured the first place team award and our Ayrie Freedman scored 1st AA!! Ayrie was also the only one on her team that had counting scores on all 4 events.  Ayrie came home with 4 gold medals: team gold, 1st on beam, 1st on floor, and 1st AA.

P5 Novice team earned a bronze medal.  Raquel made bars and beam finals and Brooke made bars and floor finals.  Brooke got 7th AA and Raquel got 12th AA.  Brooke and Raquel turned it on at event finals.  Brooke got 1st on bars and 2nd on floor and Raquel got 2nd on beam.

P5 Open team walked away with a 2nd place team finish.  Taylor got 13th AA and made beam finals.

The Pre-Novices did not compete as a team but Alyson, Kassandra, and Kiana had a great experience training and staying with all the other Alberta Pre-Novices.  Alyson had a solid day and got 3rd AA out of 21 Pre-Novice Aspires and also got 5th on vault, 6th on bars, 3rd on beam, and 4th on floor.  Kiana got 13th AA and 8th on vault and 5th on floor.  Kassandra received a silver medal on vault in Pre-Novice Elite and finished 9th AA.
